Hello Parents/Guardians & Cadets,

Below are the announcements for this week. Please read this announcement in its entirety. This Thursday will consist of regular training, the dress will be C5 (Green Field Training Uniform)  or white shirt and black pants, if you have not been issued C5. Cadets are always to bring with them a water bottle, a notebook, and a pen/pencil to take notes during their training.  A reminder that doors will open at 6:30 pm to cadets. Please ensure that you do not arrive earlier than this time.

At the end of the evening,  doors will open to parents at 8:50 pm for our final announcements for the evening, and cadets will be dismissed at 9:15.

DRESS INSTRUCTIONS

For details on how to wear the uniform correctly in accordance with the set standard, cadets are required to consult the Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers (CJCR) Dress Instructions. This should be the primary reference for what the standard is for hair, facial hair and placement of insignia and badges. If a cadet is confused by what is presented in the instructions, they can use their chain of command to direct their question to a senior cadet of the Standards department for further clarification. Dress instructions can be found here: https://www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/services/cadets-junior-canadian-rangers/cjcr-policy/cjcr-dress-instructions.html

FALL GLIDING FAMILIARIZATION DAY

Cadets that have signed up for the fall gliding familiarization day on Sun Oct 19 will be attending this event. If a cadet has signed up but cannot attend, they MUST notify Lt Amoah NLT by Thurs Oct 9. Cadets must be dropped off at HMCS PREVOST at 0730 hrs.

The bus will depart promptly at 0800 hrs. Lunch will be provided to cadets. Cadets are to be picked up from HMCS PREVOST at 1700 hrs (5 pm). Depending on weather conditions and other factors, it is possible that the return may be earlier than 1700 hrs. Parents/guardians will be contacted if this is the case. Dress is civilian attire. Cadets are to ensure they are dressed for the weather as the majority of the day will be spent outdoors. List of cadets will be posted on Teams. If you had signed up, but are no longer available to attend, you MUST inform Lt Amoah during tomorrow's training night.

FUNDAMENTAL SKILLS DAY

The squadron will be hosting a Fundamental Skills Day on Sat Oct 25th. 25 cadets from each training level will be chosen to participate. Priority will go to cadets that are going through the accelerated progression stream. Signup will be done this Thursday through your Level Officer. Lunch will be provided to cadets.

PARKING LOT SAFETY DURING PICKUP AND DROPOFF

Due to the limited number of parking spaces at HMCS PREVOST, not all vehicles will be able to park. In order to ensure the safety of cadets, and ensure the lot remains accessible in the event of an emergency, it is advised that you park along Becher St if there are no more parking spaces available. In addition, the accessibility parking spaces MUST be left open to accommodate those that actually require it. Under no circumstance  should any vehicle be using these spaces as  temporary parking spaces to wait for their cadet.
